"21 Days" Calls Young Adults to Abandoned Lifestyles
[From January 2007 Mosaic] Student Volunteer Movement 2 (or SVM2), a Christian organization dedicated to calling young adults to reach the nations, is challenging the youth of the world to fast and pray for the unreached and the spiritual state of their generation. 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting is a corporate event for what SVM2 calls, “abandoned devotion to Jesus and wholehearted commitment to global proclamation in our lifetime.” The event will take place from January 22 to February 12, and will gather students from all over the U.S and the world. Some will fast food the entire 21 days, but most will fast a lunch every day over the period, or some other creative way.
The purpose of 21 Days is very focused. Says SVM2, “God is waiting for a generation that will do whatever it takes to see the gospel planted in today's least reached areas by long-term message bearers [i.e. missionaries]. Together, we are seeking revival among the emerging generation that will thrust the supremacy of Christ to the forefront of every college ministry and cause multitudes to respond to His supremacy by giving themselves in full surrender to His role for their lives among the forgotten.”
At RMM, we encourage all youth and young adults who want to see God glorified in their lives and in the nations to participate in 21 Days. For more information, including prayer guides, fasting basics, and inspiring stories, go to: http://www.svm2.citymaker.com/21days2007.html
