RMM Workers Leave for Spain
Kevin and Wendy Mayer traveled to Spain with their two young children on March 7 to begin a three-year missionary assignment with RMM. They will spend a significant amount of 2007 learning the Spanish language and being immersed in Spanish culture. They will then begin work as church planters in the southern region of Spain.
The Mayers’ arrival in Spain is a great answer to prayer and a key piece of Project New Frontiers, RMM’s campaign to establish churches in the most unreached areas of the world. Currently Spain is one of the least reached countries in Europe and religious apathy is widespread. In Spain, if you were in a crowd of 1,000 people, statistically you would be the only person with a vital relationship with Jesus Christ. In addition, a “party culture” among the young people of Spain has led to 300,000 being addicted to heroin and cocaine, a major factor in Spain’s AIDS epidemic. There are now more AIDS victims in Spain than anywhere else in Europe.
Please join us in prayer for the Mayers as they seek to be Christ’s light to this darkened nation.
